In Designbüchern aus Grossbritannien werden öfters auch Hausboote vorgestellt.
Da stellt sich die Frage, ob das Leben auf dem Fluss denn wirklich so populär ist bei den Briten. Während ich mich heute abend etwas ertüchtigte (auf ganz einfache und wohl deswegen sehr populäre Art: Laufen) konnte ich mich überzeugen, dass die Jungs von der Insel sehr wohl auch auf Booten leben. Und das nicht zu selten. Der Kanal, den ich abrannte, war geradezu gepflastert mit den Pötten. Und sie waren definitiv bewohnt. Schon erstaunlich: Eigentlich denkt man, dass eine seefahrende Nation auch mal gerne festen Boden unter den Füssen hat. Anscheinend ist aber das Gegenteil der Fall: Zuviel zur See fahren hat wohl letztendlich Landkrankheit zur Folge.
Schön aber, dass manche Dinge auf der ganzen Welt gleich zu sein scheinen: Die Köter kacken die Wege voll (die Schuhe hatten nach dem Lauf ein atemberaubendes Aroma) und Freund Mensch tut es mit seinem Müll den Hunden gleich. Zivilisation? Nein danke ;-)

On this mission I have to change my hotel rooms more often when my underwear. What is wrong with the management. Is it now to difficult to organize accomodation for the people who work on the power plant? If yes, why we pay our managers? For sitting around, writing important mails and talking bullshit? For this I think they are a little bit overpaid ;-)

... ganz nebenbei: Die Umzieherei brachte uns auch ins Heathercliffe Hotel, Frodsham. Schon allein das war es mehr als wert. Alter englischer Stil, hervorragendes Bier und ein erstklassiges Ambiente machen einen Aufenthalt zur wahren Freude. Nur leider wissen nicht nur wir das ;-)

Rocksavage is frustrating. Together with the actual condition of our company to stay here is like to have a invitation from Mephistopheles. So it is good to see something different. Today we tried the famous Lake District a little bit to the north near Lancaster. The weather looked perfect for a walk in this famous place. From a lot of British guys I heart that this National Park must be great and so I was keen to see it. But most probably You can guess what happened: I saw nothing! Because in the Lake District it was foggy. We've done our walk and we saw a little bit of a landscape which looks for sure awesome during a sunny day. Afterwards I was thinking how nice it would be to do a real trek here.
Somehow it was a unfair day. When we drove back to Runcorn soon after we left the Lake District the weather was perfect again. At least the pizza in Chester was good. There we saw pictures from better days. It is not my first time here in Rocksavage and it was not the first time we ate in this pizzeria. On the wall was a photograph from us when we were there for the outage two years ago.
