S'pore is covered with wonderful parks. Obviously city planners kept always in mind that a republic like S'pore needs not only shopping malls, industry and homes. Places to retreat are important as well for people to bring peace in their souls.
Bishan park is one of this gas stations for the human soul. It covers a strip nearly 2km long, is devided by a main street and is unfortunately quit loud. But for joggers, in-line skaters and bicyclists it offers good possibilities for training. As well fitness corners, quit popular in S'pore, can be found. The ones in the park are really challenging.
Inside photographers can find nice flowers or the typical S'porean contrast: Concret and green.
Very near to the park Chinese and Indian tempels are located. I witnessed the Chinese tempels as very good places for calming down a roaring mind (to make it clear - I'm not a believer ;-) ).
Always important are lakes. Bishan offers them as well. Fishing can be done there but if this is really the best place to do it? I doubt it ;-)
Walking through Bishan takes time but it is worth it. Especially after long and exhausting working days the medicine park must be not underestimated. It is much more cheaper than pills and I think better for the soul. And if you have aggressions - it is always better to get rid of them in the fitness corners. Good for the body as well.
Hopefully I will have some time again for other parks in town. Dozens still waiting to be discovered.
