Yes - Vitaparcours in 12:30. Höllenschinderei! Letztes mal war ich gut eine Minute langsamer. Das Wetter war heute eher schlechter. Nur hatte ich damals - trara - Nachtschicht. Es sieht so aus, als ob die Nachtschicht Menschen definitiv mehr abverlangt. Kein Grund also, die Zuschläge zu kürzen, wenn man sich für den Betrieb schon abschindet.

Ich mach mir ja schon keine Hoffnungen mehr. Vor jeder Einreise nach Deutschland oder in die Schweiz verstaue ich mein abgewetztes weinrotes Buch so, dass ich es sofort griffbereit habe. Es ist immer wieder faszinierend, wenn ich bei den Zöllnern dran bin. Na was ham'er denn hier für einen: Drogenhändler, Türke, Itaker oder gar einen Judenbengel? Jedenfalls betet er Jehova oder/und Allah an, sicher nicht den Lieben Gott. Dann die Enttäuschung: EU-Pass - deutsch. Dann wieder Erleichterung: Daniel Jakob Weiss. Das ist ja jüdisch hoch drei! Ein widerwärtiger Palästinenser-Killer also, sozusagen ein Völkermörder in spe. Klaro, der Kollege bedarf genauer Kontrolle. Zum Glück sind die Pässe heute maschinenlesbar. Da geht eine Überprüfung hurtig. Sprich die Enttäuschung folgt prompt: Ein schlichter Bauernbengel, der studieren durfte und jetzt in der Schweiz arbeitet. Ich zahl brav meine Steuern, fahre immer SBB und schmiere die Züge nicht an. Der Zöllner muss mich ziehen lassen.
In der Zwischenzeit wird wohl der eine oder andere Steuersünder gelächelt haben. Ist doch die sichere Bank nicht mehr fern.

Ganz schöne Sauerei! Im "Vorgespräch" mit Bukowski beklagt dieser, die Literatur schreibe immer nur um den heissen Brei. Wenn gevögelt wird, schreibt der Autor seitenweise Stuss und am Schluss weiss keiner, was den nun passierte (Interview mit dem Rolling Stone; ist als Vorwort dem Buch beigefügt - Buk). Vielleicht hat er ja ein bisschen recht. Allerdings gefällt mir oft gerade dieser Stuss. Heute z. B. die ersten Seiten von Cryptonomicon. Dagegen war mir Bukowski einfach zu realistisch. Schon im Film frage ich mich, wieso ich eigentlich das, was ich die ganze Zeit um mich herum sehen muss, im Film nochmals serviert bekomme. Bei Bukowski war es nicht anders - nur dieses mal eben in Buchform. Und so gefiel mir die erste Story (das Buch ist eine Kurzgeschichtensammlung) dann auch am besten. Es ging um den Präsidenten, der durch den Führer ausgetauscht wird. Absolut hirnrissig und eben deswegen lesenswert ;-)

Braucht ordentlich Bandbreite, ist Englisch scheint aber die Lage recht gut zu treffen.

Das Mädel geht in der Bourne Verschwörung schon nach 10 Minuten baden - und will danach anscheinend partout nicht mehr auftauchen. Böses böses Manko für den Streifen - geh glaub nicht rein.

The colour of the acid lake looks somehow unnatural and it remembers me always to You Only Live Twice where the secret launch pad of the bad guy was hidden below an artificial crater lake. The colours were exactly the same. Only the small ripples would be not so easy to imitate.

Beside the sulfur wells the lake was steaming as well. A good indication of the high water temperature.

After a short ascend (around 1 hour) we got our first glimpse on the crater lake of Kawah Ijen.



Kawah Ijen contains an acid lake covering the crater mouth. The "water" is hot. Bathing is not really advisable. But people use the water to heal certain skin deceases. Most probably the acid removes infected skin parts. The smoke came from the sulfur well very near to the "beach".
It can happen that the lake releases huge amounts of volcanic gases. This transforms the crater into a huge death trap. Such accidents killed dozens of sulfur miners in the past.

When I saw the working conditions of these people it looked like forced labour. Forced labour for the almighty money.

After a wonderful night in the ranger station at the foot of Kawah Ijen we climbed up the mountain to have a look at the famous crater lake. On the way up we had a wonderful view at Raung, another very active stratovolcano.





The ranger station below is far away from the cities. There is only a small generator with normally limited fuel supplies. When we were there electrical power was available till we finished our dinner. Afterwards only the petrolium lights spent some light. The night sky was breathtaking. Without any spam light from the cities even the faintest star came out to show itself on the interstellar catwalk.

On the way from Tumpang to Kawa Ijen we had a lunch stop at a nice beach town. Here Javanese people offered their boats for smaller trips onto the Madura Strait.



The sailing boats were of a simple design. They looked quit effective and ready for longer fishing trips. But most probably nowadays their only use is to satisfy tourists passing the city mostly in busses.

The volcanos in the Tengger caldera have shown not much mercy with the fauna around them. Only the grass looked healthy. Very few trees can be found there. They are in a very bad condition.

Markus Hofmann (Die Gazette) gibt einen recht guten Einblick in das Buch.
Die Zerpflückung des Führer-Schinkens Mein Kampf fand ich extrem interessant. Amerys Thesen könnten den Wahn des GröFaZ durchaus erklären. Die Zukunftsvision des Buches ist düster. Man muss hoffen, dass letztendlich der Verstand des Menschen siegt (zur Zeit erscheint das leider nicht unbedingt wahrscheinlich).
Frech ist Amerys These des Grünen Führers. Kein Wunder, dass sich da einige auf den Schwanz getreten fühlten. Doch sollte man sich nicht dazu verleiten lassen, die These rundherum abzulehnen. Ein Diskurs ist vonnöten. Von ihm dürfte viel abbhängen.

Im Buch Hitler als Vorläufer erwähnt Carl Amery auch das Buch América von T. C. Boyle. Oh welch Schande: Da überfährt der liberale Spiesser anstatt des Mannes die Frau. Tja, Carl, das Büchlein lesen wir am besten nochmal ;-) Aber um die Frage zu beantworten: Aus dem Liberalen wird ein Extremist. Und ganz am Schluss wird er von dem "teuflischen Untermensch" aus den Fluten gezogen. Ein sehr gutes Buch, América.

Isfahan is a real beauty under the Persian cities. History laden the town offers much for cultural interested people travelling through Iran. For me it was the second city after Kashan which I visited on my trip through this country. One thing which makes the city really lovely is the river through it called Zayandeh Rood. It is the cause why Isfahan is famous for its bridges:

Beside the bridges more stuff can be found at the Zayandeh promenade. For example really breath taking Mullah art. Seems some Iranians have huge barriers in their views of the female role in society. Fact is that if Persian women would do only this, Iran wouldn't work.



The Park of Isfahan. Like always as tourist You have to pay the entrance fee times ten which is still cheap.



A little bit more interesting piece of art. At least the predator looks quit impressive.



The promenade of Isfahan. After I arrived in the town I used this place to relax. Young people strolling around are very interested in strangers. After some meters I was already engaged into a nice conversation. It was the first time I talked with Ehsan. The next day he showed me the university of Isfahan which is really impressive. After I left the city I kept in touch with him over Internet. Unfortunately he is doing now his military service. This is one of the reasons why I would be not really happy if Iran would be engaged somehow into a war.



Isfahan people are often deep religious. In opposite to Tehran, where women are not following the dress code too strictly, Isfahan females are mostly covered with black robes and head scarves (not a Burkha - this is absolutely not typical for Iran). If You start talking with a group, don't address girls. Talk only with the guys. I know! This is not really easy because Iranian girls are often very pretty. But this prevents misunderstandings and maybe problems with the Sharia rules.
